Drug Help for Fibromyalgia and Related Disorders

I felt the need to share this right away with you. I’m being treated for post-op pain from rotator cuff surgeries, which coincides with a significant fibro flare. I’ve been receiving trigger point injections, plus a Tramadol + Tylenol + Ibuprofen mix which worked ok, then began having stomach symptoms and had to stop the ibuprofen. My doc sent in an Rx for Celebrex (celecoxib), which was delayed in insurance approval long enough for my pain to become miserable. Once I started taking it on Friday, though, not only did my shoulder pain stop, but my body pain did too! Hips, femur, knees, shins, head, jaw, face. I vote YES! for all this.

I did some searching today, and found out that a combo Celebrex/Famvir drug is zipping through trials, and you can read more here:

The addition of the Famvir, an antiviral, seems to be related to helping the chronic IBS that is so pervasive among fibromyalgia sufferers.

Evidently, the combo of drugs was already outperforming others offered for fibromyalgia treatment. If you’re interested, perhaps your doc might also start you on some Celebrex, and I’m going to at least inquire about Famvir, since both are already on the market.

Hello @lynneb2110, this would be a great development. I had not heard of innovativemedconcepts before and did a bit of research on my own. Here is another article from the NIH that may be worth taking a look at. I’ve also had time to watch a couple of short videos on the innovativemedconcepts.com section about fibromyalgia about how the latent HPV1 virus can act inside you, touching just about all the common factors, including but not limited to IBS, bladder issues, facial pain, abdominal discomforts, and much more. I have not known of any cold sore or related virus that I had, but I know my mom did and could well have been exposed via her.

The other thing is the virus is also the culprit of chicken pox if you had it the virus lays dorment
inside of us ,the also causes Shingles so you need to get your shot ,this makes sense concerning fibromyalgia?research maybe on to the cause?

Yes! Did you watch the short video on “the science of the treatment” that’s on the company’s home page? It’s very informative, and actually makes some sense to me. (Me, a layman, but maybe an above average consumer of such info.) And yes that HSV-1 is responsible for a number of maladies, all unpleasant. And I got my shingles shot in my mid fifties, which in retrospect, might not last long enough, but I knew I would not enjoy it now.

Just finished reading the above articles ,finally sounds promising ,I've had this 30+ yrs ,doing the happy dance.Glad you got your Shingle shot going to show this to my rheumatologist next time I see her I had to stop the Celebrex as it upset my stomach when I was in the study group.Thanks for sharing.
